Data deletion
How to have your data deleted.
One email is enough. Here's what happens next, and how long it takes.
01
How to ask
Email info@runonchip.com with the subject line “Delete my data”. Write from the address you used with us, or tell us which address, name or social account to look for. You don't need a form or a particular form of words.
If you connected a Facebook, Instagram, Threads or LinkedIn account to a CHIP service, tell us which one so we can find it. You can also remove CHIP's access yourself at any time from that platform's settings (Apps and Websites on Facebook and Instagram, Connected apps on Threads, Permitted services on LinkedIn). Doing that stops new data from reaching us. Email us as well if you want what we already hold deleted.
02
What gets deleted
Everything we hold that's tied to you: form submissions, emails and notes from our conversations, and any access tokens, account identifiers and profile details received from a social platform when you connected an account.
CHIP publishes to its own pages and to client-owned accounts. It doesn't collect your followers' or other people's profile data, and it doesn't build profiles of individuals. If a client's connected account is the source, the client's engagement terms apply to that account's records, and we'll tell you who to ask.
03
What we keep
Only what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices and tax records, plus the minimum needed to make sure we don't contact you again (your email address on a do-not-contact list). We'll say in our reply if anything falls into either group.
04
How long it takes
We confirm by email that we've received your request, and we complete the deletion and confirm it within 30 days. Copies in routine backups are overwritten on the backups' normal cycle.
