What we collect, where it goes, and how to get it back.

Written from what this site actually does, checked against its own source, including the part most policies leave out.

Who you're dealing with

This site is operated by Todreamalife, LLC (“TDAL”), based in Orinda, California, which trades as CHIP at https://runonchip.com. Questions about anything on this page go to info@runonchip.com or 650-855-2716, and a person answers them.

CHIP also does client work inside client-owned accounts. That work is governed by the engagement, not by this page. This page covers this website only.

What we collect, and only when you hand it over

There's no account to create and nothing to log into. You can read every page here without giving us anything.

Three things on this site ask for information, and all three are voluntary: the impact calculator, the two-minute questionnaire, and the resource downloads. Each one records what you typed into it, which is typically your name, your email address, your company, and the figures you entered about your own business.

The contact form and any email you send us records what you wrote and the address you wrote it from, because that's how a reply works.

Where it goes

Submissions are written to an Airtable base we control, separate from any client's records. Email is delivered through Resend. The site itself is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses.

Those three are processors acting on our instructions. We don't sell your information, we don't rent it, and we don't hand it to anyone else to market to you.

Analytics and advertising trackers, stated plainly

This site loads Google Analytics 4, the Meta (Facebook) pixel, a GoHighLevel tracking script, and Vercel Web Analytics. They report your visit back to those companies, which use it for their own purposes as well as ours.

What each one's for: Google Analytics 4 counts pages read and records when you finish the calculator or the questionnaire; the Meta (Facebook) pixel reports your visit to Meta, which is advertising infrastructure even when no ad is running; a GoHighLevel tracking script ties a booking made on the contact page back to the visit that led to it; and Vercel Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

There's no consent banner on this site, and that's a decision rather than an oversight. We're a small California company, almost everyone who reads this site is in the United States or Canada, and putting a wall in front of a first visit would cost every reader something to protect very few. What we owe you instead is the truth about what runs and a switch that actually works, so both are on this page.

We use what they report to understand which pages get read and which ones don't. We don't use them to build a profile of you as an individual, and we've never run an ad campaign off any of it.

Why we keep it

To answer you, to prepare something specific to your business rather than generic, and to keep a record of a conversation that may run over weeks. If you filled in the calculator and then booked a call, we want the person on that call to already have your numbers.

We'll send you material you asked for. We'll follow up on a conversation you started. We won't add you to a list you didn't ask to be on.

How long we keep it

For as long as the conversation is live, and for a period afterwards in case it restarts, which in this business is often months rather than days.

If you tell us you're not interested, we keep the minimum needed to avoid contacting you again, and delete the rest.

Your rights over it

Ask us what we hold about you and we'll tell you. Ask us to correct it and we'll correct it. Ask us to delete it and we'll delete it, other than anything we're required to keep.

One email to info@runonchip.com is enough. You don't need a form, a legal basis, or a particular form of words, and we'll come back to you within 30 days.

If you're in California, that includes the rights the CCPA gives you. We don't sell personal information and we never have. We do have to be straight with you about the other word: CPRA calls it “sharing” when a site hands data to a third party for cross-context behavioural advertising, and the Meta pixel described above does exactly that whenever it's running. The control in that section turns it off, and turning it off is the opt-out.

If you're in Canada, PIPEDA applies to us in the same way. If you're in the UK or the EU, treat the paragraph above as your access, rectification and erasure request route.

Security, described rather than promised

Access to the base holding submissions is limited to the people who need it, which today is a small number. Everything travels over HTTPS. Credentials are held outside the codebase.

Nobody can honestly promise a system can't be breached, so we won't. What we can say is that this site holds contact details and self-reported business figures, and no payment information, because we never take payment through it.

Children

This is a business-to-business site and it isn't directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect anything from children, and if we learn we have, we'll delete it.

Changes to this page

If we start doing something materially different with your information, this page changes first and the date at the top changes with it. There's no archive of previous versions, so if the specifics matter to you, keep a copy.
